Cedric Chevalley’s story is a testament to the fact that art conquers all. After getting rid of any addiction, (except caffeine and action) he was able to uncover his true identity as an artist and dedicate his life to creation. Jewelry and nowadays, more and more, to sculpture.
Born and raised near Lake Geneva, Switzerland, Cedric initially studied machining and graduated with a federal certificate of abilities before spending 9 months in the Swiss army.
In 1994, he began an internship in the Czech Republic to learn the art of glass blowing.
In 1996, he moved to the Vallée de Joux – the famous Swiss “watch valley” – where he was employed by a watch factory. He soon began to study at a technical school for jewelry-making where he graduated with the Swiss federal certificate of abilities as a jeweler.
In 2001, Cedric Chevalley created his international jewelry brand, Cbijoux, which specializes in creating custom-made wedding and engagement rings. He is known for his special use of design, and for employing precious metals and very unique materials such as titanium, carbon fiber, wood, and tantalum.
Customers can order custom wedding rings remotely, or come to the showroom in Monthey, Switzerland to work on the design with Cedric himself. Each year, Cedric custom-makes over 400 wedding rings.
He won the Prix Golay for “Swissskills” in June 2001 and simultaneously created his own jewelry collection and company, Cbijoux.
He won “Etoile de la Mode” in Paris in 2002, with a jewelry collection made of glass and silver.
In 2004, Cedric launched a new ground-breaking collection of interchangeable rings known as the “Mood Collection,” an international brand he sold in 2013. This company now has 30 employees and sales reach 5 million annually.
In 2013, Cedric launched his namesake brand, Cedric Chevalley, which includes contemporary art-jewelry made from the wood of recycled skateboard decks. He has showcased this collection in many international fairs, exhibitions, and galleries.
In 2016, he also won an ‘Excellence by Art and Craft Design’ award.
And finally, in 2017, he won the A’design Award.
